Birch Challenge Back For The Thrill Of The Chase
Participants will run as many or as few 3.3 mile loops within a 6 hour limit.
There is nothing like a run around Cannock Chase to set you up for the day and where better to do so than at the Birch Challenge on Thursday 19 October. Soak up the views and atmosphere as you tick off the laps in the autumn sunshine and finish with a well deserved medal and smile on your face.
The Birch Challenge is another well organised run from Big Bear Events in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) that is Cannock Chase in Staffordshire. Big Bear Events are known for their friendly, inclusive approach where every participant is looked after from start to finish irrespective of age or ability and goes home on a high.
Fingers crossed for some decent weather which shows Cannock Chase in all its glory: woodland; heathland and parkland; trees and trails will be the order of the day.
This idyllic location is very popular with runners and they’ll arrive on Thursday morning, ready to begin their individual challenge between 9am and 3pm. They will run a 3.3 mile loop on a hilly course which is solid underfoot whilst admiring the views and refuelling at the well stocked aid station.
There’ll be no shortage of support either from the organiser, marshals/volunteers and fellow runners. All of which adds up to a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Whether you run 5K, 10K, a half marathon, marathon or an ultra, a medal, flapjack and a drink will be waiting for you. There is the option to forgo the medal when signing up for this event and plant a tree instead via Trees Not Tees.
