New Staffordshire Epic Trail 10K comes to Cannock Chase

New Staffordshire Trail 10K ready to run wild and free

Entries are selling fast for this race due to heavy demand.

On Saturday 9 October the Staffordshire Epic Trail 10K will make its debut at Cannock Chase, one of the most attractive areas in the UK. Runners can look forward to a memorable day out on a full marked, marshalled course whilst admiring the autumn display in this Midlands forest.

Organised by Tough Runner UK, this new event is open to runners of all abilities who, whether they are a tarmac lover or an off-road devotee, are invited to test themselves over 10K in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Cannock Chase is popular with cyclists, walkers and runners who like to explore its myriad collection of trails, heathland, parkland and wood pastures. It is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna including deer and rare wildlife species. Participants may spot any of these as they pass through.

For road runners this is an ideal opportunity to leave their comfort zone and exchange the tarmac for trail whilst enjoying the surrounding countryside. There is equally something for the experienced trail runner who can go hard and fast through the woods with a podium finish or PB in their sights.

(Information about the course will appear soon on the event website.)

There are water stations at the start/finish and halfway, medical support and the race is chip timed. Every finisher is presented with a bespoke medal in recognition of their efforts.

Entries have reopened but for a limited time only. Anyone interested should enter sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment via the Tough Runner UK website.
