The Cairn Table Hill Race takes place near Muirkirk in East Ayrshire, challenging runners to the summit of one of Ayrshire’s best known hills. The event is run under hill racing conditions and is intended for runners with experience of fell and hill terrain.
The 7.2K course follows unmarked routes across rough hill terrain to and from the summit of Cairn Table. Fell shoes are required, and runners should be confident navigating open hillside with no course markings or on route support.
The race is chip timed and entry is available in advance only. Competitors are expected to be self reliant and prepared for changing hill conditions, with experienced race organisation ensuring a safe and rewarding fell racing experience.
