Bury Brilliant 10K
This popular 10K race will return to the streets of Bury in September...
With news that the Bury 10K has a new sponsor in Bury BID, now is the perfect time to remind you that the popular race will return to the town's streets in 2024 on 15 September.
An annual fixture in the calendar and a marker point for participants of all abilities and ages to reach their peak physical fitness, the Bury 10K is firmly established as one of the region’s most popular mass participation running events. Each year thousands line up on the start line, whether it be running for good causes, PBs or fun.
A spokesperson from Run for All who organise the race said: "Staged in partnership with Bury Council, we will be working together with Bury BID to inspire, motivate and empower participants of all ages and abilities to take on the 10K."
Councillor Tamoor Tariq, Cabinet Member for Adult Care, Health and Well-Being said “We are proud to be supporting this key community event for our borough. Since the inaugural 10K back in 2016, we’ve seen more than 10,000 people of all ages and abilities taking part and I am delighted to be joining in once again.
“I look forward to our communities coming together on 15 September for a fantastic day of running, fundraising and enjoyment. It will be another spectacular showcase of a community celebrating movement and physical exercise."
Featuring a start and finish line set outside the Rock Shopping Centre, the 10K route will take runners along Tottington Road and Bury Road, before exploring local nature reserve, the Kirklees Trail. The course will then loop back towards the town centre, before participants cross the all-important finish line back outside The Rock.
A great event for runners and spectators alike, this scenic route promises to attract huge crowds of supporters as the town centre meets the picturesque countryside.
