Bimble Into Winter
Early sign-up is encouraged for this well-loved event on the Worcestershire trail running calendar....
Trail running enthusiasts in Bromsgrove will be lacing up for a scenic challenge this winter as the popular Winter Bumble Bimble Trail Run returns on 30 November. Organised by local trail running fans, the event offers participants the chance to explore the picturesque countryside around Dodford, taking in woodland valleys, fields and the spectacular Nutnells Wood.
This winter edition features a single 5-mile route, starting and finishing at the Park Gate Inn. Runners will navigate a mix of terrains from stiles and kissing gates to muddy paths, long grass and steep inclines with very little road running. The varied and undulating course demands extra effort compared to road races, making it both a rewarding and challenging experience for all abilities.
While the 11-mile option is reserved for the summer event, organisers recommend the 5-mile winter course for newcomers to trail running. More experienced runners can still expect a tough but enjoyable outing through some of the region’s most scenic landscapes.
After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy the post-run atmosphere at the Park Gate Inn, which will be serving local ales, ciders and food. Many runners choose to bring a change of clothes and stay on for the after-party, swapping stories with fellow participants while soaking in the countryside views.
