Resolve to get fit at BTR Road Runners C25K

BTR Road Runners want the local community to join them on a journey to fitness and fun at their first Couch to 5K (C25K) programme. The programme starts in February and ends with the Medal Muddle 5K in April.

The run up to Christmas is stressful as is the Big Day itself when rich food and the comfort of the sofa take their toll. Indigestion and lethargy are a few of the after effects along with carrying a 'bit of timber' and once the festive season is over, it is time to shape up for the new year. To get fit and active whilst losing weight are the goals for many.

Wirral-based club BTR Road Runners have the answer to the seasonal splurge with their first Couch to 5K (C25K) programme. This is open to beginners and people who want to get back into running after a period of time away.

It is held over 8 weeks and attendees will be encouraged to run twice a week every Tuesday and Thursday with a third run being planned for the weekends. Everyone who signs up will receive a personal training plan along with the support and encouragement of club members. The programme will culminate with the BTR Medal Muddle 5K Fun Run on Easter Monday (13 April) at River Park, Bromborough.

The C25K programme is free of charge; however, attendees are encouraged to donate £1 each session which is donated to charity. Monies raised from the programme will be divided between Claire House Children’s Hospice and Leukaemia Care.
