Brighton 10K 2024 taster

Nine Months Notice!

To ensure you don't miss out we have all the Brighton 10K details here...

The clock is ticking for one of the most popular seafront 10K races in the south of England. The Brighton 10K, established in 1984 by Brighton & Hove AC, is ready to line up on Hove Lawns for its 40th anniversary running on Sunday 17 November 2024 – and we are giving runABC South readers nine months' notice so you don't miss out (again) on this perennially sold-out event.

There were coincidentally 2,023 finishers in the 2023 Brighton 10K, with speedy victories in breezy conditions for James McMurray (St Albans Striders, 30:59) and Helen Hall (Winchester RC, 33:38) – although course records by Rob Denmark (28:59 in 1993) and Louise Damen (33:14 in 2010) were retained.

As we reported in runABC South there were 260 runners inside 40 minutes; 840 under 50 minutes and more than 1,500 beat the hour last year. A multitude of PBs were established, many aided by the exemplary pacing of the Xempo Pace Team.

Brighton 10K runners enjoy a big city race with a super friendly vibe, run over a fast and flat route, with free runner photography, and a fantastic finishers medal. The race welcomes all abilities – whether you’re a first-timer, running for charity, or an experienced club runner chasing a PB, you’ll enjoy a great morning of running along the iconic Brighton & Hove seaside.

The start is on Hove Promenade, 500m west of the i360. The course passes many famous Brighton landmarks including Palace Pier, Sea Life Centre, and the i360 observation tower. For details of the 2024 race route click here.

Brighton 10K has again been nominated as a qualifying event for the 2025 Masters International 10K (date and venue to be decided). Top Masters athletes in five-year age groups from M35 and W35 categories will qualify for selection for the England Masters team, subject to meeting minimum standards – more information at England Athletics here.

Brighton 10K entries are now open at £26/£28 and there will also be a Junior Mile for five to 16-year-olds with fees from £7. Full details and entry portal at the Brighton 10K website here.
