Santa's Back In Boston
Boston's Santa Run is back and promises to be better than ever in 2024...
The Boston Santa Run has been a firm favourite in Lincolnshire's festive diary since 2018 and will return in 2024 on 1 December continuing the fun for another year. The race will now be co-organised with Trident Sports Events who are excited about their involvement, commenting: "The Boston Santa Run has been raising funds for local causes since 2018, handing out in excess of £5000 and clearly aligns closely to our values and ethos around community and inclusivity."
Starting and finishing in the marketplace, those taking part in the 5 or 3K distances will run, jog or walk their way around Boston town centre dressed in a favourite Christmas jumper or costume. The route remains the same as 2023 to keep everyone as safe as possible but still ensuring runners will pass the famous Boston landmarks including Central Park, Pescod Square and of course the Stump.
The run has consistently got bigger and bigger drawing interest and kudos from far afield due to its fabulous medals, goody bag and of course, the mince pie at the finish! You don't need to be a runner to take part as it is open to everyone whether you run, jog or want to walk.
In keeping with tradition every runner will receive a reusable Santa hat and the run number will be Santa themed with a Trident twist. Organisers say: "Make sure you wear it with pride along the route as, when you are greeted at the finish line, this will get you your well earned goody bag."
The event will again be held alongside the Boston Christmas Market so there will be lots of festive music and activities in the marketplace. Proceeds raised from the event will help the community in Boston and the surrounding villages, with this year's chosen charity being the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
