Tough And Quirky Blakedown Bolt Returns For 2026

Tough trail 10K returns...

The Blakedown Bolt 10K returns to Blakedown near Kidderminster on Friday 19 June 2026, offering a popular evening mixed terrain 10K starting at 7:15pm from Blakedown Sports Field.

The course is anything but straightforward, taking runners across fields, woodland trails and quiet country lanes with hills, stiles, pinch points and even a water crossing adding to the challenge. It is firmly a race for experience rather than chasing a PB, but the variety and scenery make it one of the most memorable routes in the region.

This well established event has built a strong reputation in the Midlands running calendar, known for its unique character and community feel. Its mix of terrain and quirky features helps position it as a key fixture for runners looking for something different from the standard road 10K.

Entries are now open with a strictly limited field, and the race is expected to fill quickly, often reaching capacity. With no refunds and limited transfer options, early commitment is key for those planning to take part.

Beyond the race itself, the event has a strong local focus, raising money for community causes while being supported by volunteers and marshals who help deliver a friendly and well organised experience. The post race BBQ and bar add a social element that keeps runners around long after the finish line.

With its challenging course, scenic Worcestershire setting and distinctive atmosphere, the Blakedown Bolt continues to stand out as one of the Midlands’ most unique and best loved summer races.
