New Birmingham Running Tour ready for take-off
History in action at the new Best of Birmingham Running Tour
Monday (13 July), will see the launch of the Best of Birmingham Running Tour. Runners will experience history in motion as they embark on a 10K journey around the UK's second city, the home of the Bullring and Jewellery Quarter and learn more about what makes Birmingham tick.
The West Midlands city plays host to several mass participation events including the Great Birmingham Run, Birmingham Marathon and Big Fun Run and in 2022 will be in the spotlight when Birmingham hosts the Commonwealth Games.
The tour organisers are Run of a Kind and founder Lucy Canham is passionate about travel, new experiences, meeting people and of course running! A cabin crew member, she has completed 20 running tours over six continents and together with fellow enthusiast Hannah Green wanted to share her love of learning and exploration with others.
Their Best of Birmingham Running Tour is based upon tourist walking tours whilst offering a speedier way to see the sights. The tour will be at a leisurely pace enabling runners of all ages and abilities to take part and discover new and interesting facts about the city. They will run along scenic canal paths and through streets containing architectural landmarks and there will be stops along the way to take photos. Post-run refreshments will be provided.
At present, the tours are limited to five runners from up to five households and the guide in accordance with government guidelines. Social distancing must be adhered to.
Tickets for the Best of Birmingham Running Tour can be booked via Run of a Kind website.
