Do you qualify for a fantastic discount on this autumn 10K race?
jogscotland member's can benefit from a fantastic offer for one of the Central Belt's most popular and community-minded 10K races. Yes, if you do happen to be a member then 'flash that card' and grab yourself a whopping 50% off entry to this year's Cumbernauld 10K. This discount only applies to North Lanarkshire jogscotland groups (Airdrie, Chryston and Motherwell) - not all jogscotland groups as we initially reported.
Back this autumn, the Cumbernauld 10K is delivered by the Active & Creative Communities department of North Lanarkshire Council and will take place on Sunday 3 September from its base of Broadwood Stadium.
Named Scotland’s 10K of the year at the 2018 National Running Awards, beating out 20 other top events this is a race with award-winning pedigree so beat the crowds and sign up soon - you'll also benefit from a £20 early bird price if you do!
In addition to the ‘flat, fast and beginner friendly’ 10K, organisers will again be offering a 3K timed run for S1-S4 pupils, a 1K run for P5–P7 pupils, a 400m run for P1–P4 pupils and a toddler dash for children aged three to five.
Free, fun activities for all the community will also take place throughout the day, to encourage everyone to come along and support the runners. Race organisers told us: "There will be bouncy castles and 'come and try' activities, so come along join in the fun and cheer on the runners. We have something for everyone!"
The 2023 Cumbernauld 10K will run in partnership with North Lanarkshire Suicide Prevention, with donations collected at registration. And organisers are also delighted to offer a Victory Mile Walk event in partnership with their registered charity, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland.
Over 400 runners took part in 2022's event with the winning honours going to Jonathan Moore in 33:12 and Karen Edgar doing it in the women's race in 39:20.
