Beer and Pudding Race

Pudding In The Peaks

This race blends great running, great scenery and great local produce...

Trail runners with a taste for local flavours are in for a treat next spring as the Beer and Pudding Race returns to Bakewell on 22 March. Hosted by Trails For Good and based at the iconic Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room, the event combines scenic Peak District running with two of the town’s best-known delights: a Thornbridge beer and an authentic Bakewell Pudding.

Participants can choose between a 7K or 13.5K fully waymarked route, both designed to showcase some of the finest scenery Derbyshire has to offer. The courses take runners along the picturesque Monsal Trail, through woodland, beside the River Wye and across trails with sweeping views of the surrounding hills. The long route features an extra climb and a rewarding woodland descent before rejoining the shorter course.

The finish brings everyone back to the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room, where the Trails For Good team will welcome participants with their complimentary beer and Bakewell Pudding. Many are expected to stay on to enjoy more of the venue’s hospitality, including fresh pizza and additional drinks.

A portion of every race entry supports trail repair and nature recovery work across Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park, meaning runners can enjoy the landscape knowing they are helping to protect it.
