Beat the Boat is an annual 10K organised by Runface, taking place in the historic surroundings of Eton and Windsor. The event is defined by its distinctive challenge of racing against spectator boats along the River Thames, creating an experience unlike any other 10K while showcasing one of England's best known riverside settings.
The mixed terrain course follows flat riverside paths and tracks, passing through scenic stretches beside the Thames with views towards Windsor Castle and the surrounding countryside. The largely level route encourages consistent running while the unique race against the boats adds an extra dimension from start to finish.
Chip timing, clearly marked routes, marshals and well placed support help ensure a smooth race day experience. Finishers receive a commemorative medal and the welcoming atmosphere, together with the event's memorable format and picturesque location, has made Beat the Boat a distinctive fixture on the running calendar.
