The Beast of Bamford Fell Race explores the spectacular Hope Valley skyline surrounding Bamford in the Peak District. Two challenging routes take runners across open moorland and rugged hills, with highlights including Bamford Moor, Bamford Edge, Ladybower and Win Hill.
Runners can choose the 15K Beast of Bamford, with around 650m of ascent, or step up to the longer Beastier route with around 1,100m of climbing. Mandatory checkpoints must be visited along the way, while navigational skills are required and runners can make their own route choices where rights of way allow.
Both races provide a demanding winter fell running challenge through some of the Peak District's most striking scenery. The combination of steep climbing, exposed terrain and route choice makes the event particularly suited to runners looking to test their fell running and navigation skills.
