Runners Set To Go Ballistic This Weekend

Aberdeenshire's beach-based OCR event is back this weekend!

This weekend will see the return of Aberdeenshire's Beach Ballistic OCR event - Scotland's only beach-based OCR course. Taking place in Balmedie Country Park, the stunning beach and unique dune system along the Aberdeenshire coast is the location for gruelling 16K and 8K OCR courses as well as the extreme 32K monster that is the Ultra Beach.

Obstacles are set in the unique and challenging coastal landscape, including a dip in the North Sea - so you can be assured that this will be a true test of strength, stamina and mental toughness for all those taking part.

Race organisers, Military Fitness Training, are expecting a massive turnout with runners from across the country descending on the east coast to test their fitness and have the time of their lives!

It's not just about fun, games and sandy obstacles, Beach Ballistic is one of only two World and European Championship qualification OCR courses in Scotland and competitors from both the 32K and 16K races will have the opportunity to qualify for the OCR World and European Championships.

You may not have a place at this year's event but why not head down to Balmedie Country Park to cheer on the participants? It is a great day out for the family with an excellent park for kids as well as the obvious lure of a beach. If the thought of challenging yourself on the sand has inspired you, why not check out one of Military Fitness Training's Balmedie Beach Fitness Classes?
