The Baslow Bolt is a 13.2K fell race set in the Peak District village of Baslow, following a challenging route along the surrounding skyline. Reviving the traditional Baslow fell race, the event takes runners through woodland, open pasture and rugged countryside, with views across the Dark Peak and White Peak.
Runners tackle approximately 400m of ascent across woodland paths, limestone trails and gritstone terrain. The route climbs towards Hassop before passing through Bank Wood and Bramley Wood, descending towards the River Derwent and climbing again to Baslow Edge. The final descent along Bar Road leads back into the village, with a marked and marshalled course offering an introduction to fell racing.
Organised under Fell Runners Association rules, the Baslow Bolt forms part of the Outside Winter Race Series and supports local community causes. The race starts at St Anne's Church and finishes at Baslow St Anne's Primary School, bringing runners back into the village after their journey across the surrounding hills.
