Festive fun and run again at the Audley 5K
The 2021 event is supporting the Buddy Bag Foundation.
Christmas is coming and the Audley Festive 5K is ready to run on Sunday 19 December. This event is a good excuse to pull out the Santa suit or go the ‘full Elf’ and help a worthy cause at the same time.
Everyone is invited to take part in this festive run from Audley Striders RC in conjunction with Audley Rotary Club. Adults, children, friends, relatives, work colleagues...all are welcome and will receive a medal and t-shirt in return. Whether there will be snow is another matter but whatever the weather, participants can expect a well organised event and a friendly atmosphere.
The Audley Festive 5K made its debut in 2019 to rave reviews and raised funds for Mary’s Meals – a charity which provides school dinners to children in some of the poorest regions around the world.
This year’s event is in support of the Buddy Bag Foundation, a charity set up in 2015 on behalf of children in emergency care. They supply these vulnerable children with a backpack tailored to their age and gender containing essential items such as pyjamas which they keep with them wherever they go.
The run starts at 11am from Audley Cricket Club and goes around the village before finishing back at the cricket club. It is chip timed courtesy of AV Timing and participants are asked to pick up their chip along with their bib number at least 30 minutes before the event begins.
Note: under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
