The Apothecarython Fun Run links The Coffee Apothecary cafés at Udny and Ellon through the Aberdeenshire countryside. Participants can choose the Single Espresso, running one way from Udny to Ellon, or the Double Espresso, which starts in Ellon, reaches Udny and returns to finish back at Ellon.
The route is predominantly off road, following local paths and the former railway line of the Formartine and Buchan Way, with pavement and quiet country road sections along the way. The Single Espresso covers just over 9K, while the Double Espresso covers roughly twice the distance. The event is untimed, allowing runners to complete the route at their own pace while following the course independently.
Both options finish at The Coffee Apothecary in Ellon, where runners can celebrate after completing their chosen route. Part of each entry fee supports the Udny Paths Group, and participants receive a finisher medal and a small bag of coffee.
