The Marathon follows the Trans Pennine Trail for 21km and turns around just before Fairburn Ings. The Half Marathon follows the same route turning round at 10.5km.
This is a very fast and flat course with very good quality footpath conditions, as it follows the river it is incredibly flat, however, there are a couple of small bridges with steps that must be crossed.
