The Aberfoyle Trail Run is a 10K trail race set within the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Starting and finishing in Aberfoyle, the fully marked course follows a varied mix of forest trails, single track paths and unmade ground, offering a scenic challenge through one of Scotland's best known woodland landscapes. A 1K trail run for primary school aged children also takes place nearby.
Organised by the Aberfoyle Primary School and Nursery Parent Council, the event raises funds for the school while supporting local community groups. Both races are chip timed, fully marshalled and held under a Scottish Athletics permit, with registration based at Aberfoyle Memorial Hall.
The Aberfoyle Trail Run is ideal for runners looking to experience fast forest trails and varied terrain in the heart of the Trossachs. With beautiful surroundings, excellent organisation and a welcoming community atmosphere, it is a popular late summer trail race for both experienced and first time trail runners.
