Brandon Country Park, set in the heart of Thetford Forest, provides a scenic location for this flexible running event. You can choose a six-hour format starting at 9 am or a four-hour format starting at 11 am, running as far as you can within the time limit. As long as you leave base camp before 5:59:59, you can begin one final lap.
The course is a 5.3K multi-terrain loop on gravel paths and grass. You can run as much or as little as you like, with the option to rest between laps. A standard heavy half marathon is five laps, with the option to increase to six or seven, while a standard ultra marathon is nine laps, extendable up to twelve depending on time.
Suitable for all levels, the event is ideal whether you are aiming for your first 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, or ultra marathon, or looking to go further without the complexity of traditional trail ultras. The route is easy to follow, with an aid station available at every lap.
Parking is chargeable, with marshals available to direct you on arrival. You will receive a pre-event email with race details, and on the day you can collect your bib number at registration. A baggage area is available at your own risk, and you will pass close to the parking area each lap if you prefer to access your own supplies.
The race headquarters and base camp are located at the start and lap point, where water and support are provided. Road trainers are generally suitable, although trail shoes may be useful depending on conditions.
All finishers will receive a bespoke medal, unless the lucky dip or finisher option has been selected. The park is easily accessible, just south of Brandon near the A11, within reach of Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Cambridge, and Ipswich, and around 1.5 miles from Brandon railway station.
Please note that parking is not included in the entry fee, entries close 48 hours before the event, and this is a cupless event, so bring your own bottles or cups for refilling.
