The Wye King Challenge is a multi terrain 10K and Half Marathon organised by Sporting Events UK in the Kent village of Wye, between Ashford and Canterbury.
Both routes explore the surrounding countryside using a mixture of picturesque country lanes, paths and trails, with views across the Wye valley. A distinctive feature is the Wye Crown, the large chalk crown carved into the hillside above the village to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902 and the landmark that gives the event its name.
Race headquarters are at Wye Village Hall and Recreation Ground, where facilities include toilets, secure baggage storage, refreshments and a small event village with food and drink available after the races. Both distances are chip timed and finishers receive a bespoke medal.
