The AVR Wiltshire Half Marathon is organised by Avon Valley Runners and follows a certified road course through the Wiltshire countryside.
Starting in Edington, the Half Marathon takes runners through the attractive villages of Steeple Ashton and Great Hinton on a rural 13.1 mile route. Now a well established fixture in the local running calendar, the race combines village roads and open countryside with a course designed for competitive road running.
The event is chip timed and four water stations are positioned around the route. Runners have three hours and 30 minutes to complete the Half Marathon, with an intermediate 10K cut off of 90 minutes.
Pre entered finishers receive a medal and performance T shirt, while awards are presented to leading runners, age category winners and teams. Race headquarters are at Station Yard in Edington. The event also supports Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity.
