The Wild Deer Scottish Trail Running Festival takes place at Dalkeith Country Park, a historic estate just outside Edinburgh. Organised by Wild Deer Events, the festival offers 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra Marathon races, welcoming everyone from first time trail runners to experienced ultra athletes.
The courses weave through ancient woodland, open parkland and firm estate paths on a mixture of flowing single track, forest trails and grassy sections. The Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra Marathon use multi lap routes, allowing runners to experience a varied but runnable trail course with gentle undulating terrain and excellent support throughout the day.
Chip timing, well stocked feed stations on the longer races, finisher medals and a vibrant event village create a true trail running festival atmosphere. Set within one of Scotland's finest country estates, the event combines beautiful surroundings with a choice of distances to suit every level of trail runner.
