Wild Deer in Thoresby Park

It's another new venue for Wild Deer Events...

Wild Deer Events will make their first visit to Thoresby Park near Sherwood Forest in October 2024. This magnificent estate has been the home of SBR Events for nine years but April's Longhorn was their last event at the venue which leaves room for something new on 6 October.

Speaking about the new venue, a spokesperson from the events company said: "We are delighted that we will be taking on the trail running at Thoresby Park and will be hosting a 5K, 10K and Half Marathon for our inaugural event."

Thoresby Park is a beautiful country estate located in the heart of Nottinghamshire, it has been in the Pierrepont Family for over 400 years and is home to a stunning 17th-century mansion, a world-renowned art collection, and over 1,000 acres of parkland. A popular tourist destination, it offers a variety of activities and attractions for visitors.

Ideal for runners of all fitness levels, the estate is fairly flat so the 5K and 10K will suit first timers to trail running or those wanting a step up from parkrun. The 5K is for anyone over 11 years, the 10K and Half Marathon for anyone over 15 years. The routes are to be confirmed but they will take in the beautiful estate and will be suitable for all fitness levels.

Speaking aout their events, the spokesperson continued: "Our events have a friendly, relaxed atmosphere which makes them perfect for first timers as well as seasoned athletes. We hope you can join us for what will be a wonderful day of trail running. We expect this to be a sell out event this autumn so sign up now!"

All finishers will get a medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a snack and a drink. There will also be separate races for canicross runners and Nordic walkers.
