The Wendover Woods 50 is a challenging 50 mile trail ultra completing five 10 mile loops entirely within Wendover Woods. The course packs 10,000ft of ascent and descent into its forest setting and forms the fourth and final event in Centurion Running's 50 Mile Grand Slam.
Runners tackle a varied mix of wide forest trails, smooth descents and runnable climbs alongside much steeper ascents and descents throughout each loop. The course is 99% trail and fully marked, with runners returning to the start and finish aid station after every 10 miles and passing a second aid station at Hale Lane on each lap.
The race has a 15 hour overall cut off and provides nine aid station visits, medical support and a marked course throughout. Finishers receive a medal, with additional prizes for the leading male, female and veteran category runners.
