Wadsworth Half Trog is a classic 9.3 mile fell race across the South Pennine moors above Hebden Bridge, packing much of the character of the full Wadsworth Trog into a shorter course. Starting from Old Town, the route covers varied fell terrain with around 1,400ft of ascent.
Runners head across the moors to checkpoints including High Brown Knoll, Warley Moor Reservoir and Sheepstones Trig before returning towards Old Town. Steep climbs, open moorland and sections of the wider Wadsworth Trog route create a varied challenge through the Calderdale landscape.
Licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UK Athletics rules, the event delivers a traditional South Pennines fell running experience. The combination of climbing, moorland terrain and prominent local landmarks makes the Half Trog a distinctive fixture in the Calder Valley fell racing calendar.
