The White Horse Gallop is organised by White Horse Harriers and is a scenic trail half marathon starting and finishing on the Ridgeway near Wantage. The circular course explores some of Oxfordshire's most iconic countryside, passing Ashdown House, Wayland's Smithy and the famous Uffington White Horse while following a mixture of trails, tracks and open countryside.
Approximately half marathon in distance, the route features around 1,200 feet of ascent, offering a rewarding challenge for experienced trail runners and those looking to tackle a classic off road event. Professionally organised under UK Athletics rules, the race includes accurate chip timing, well stocked water stations, friendly marshals and clearly marked trails throughout.
Every finisher receives a medal, with trophies awarded to the leading male and female finishers, age category winners and selected spot prize recipients. Renowned for its outstanding scenery, excellent organisation and welcoming atmosphere, the White Horse Gallop has become one of the South East's most popular summer trail races.
