The Turner Landscape Fell Race is organised by Pete Bland Sports and takes place from Turner Hall Farm in the Duddon Valley, Cumbria. Covering approximately 17 kilometres with around 906 metres of ascent, the race explores the eastern fells above the valley on a challenging but highly runnable course that is well regarded by experienced fell runners.
The route visits the summits of Grey Friar, Coniston Old Man, Dow Crag and White Pike before returning to Turner Hall Farm. With fast lines, demanding climbs and extensive views across the Lake District, the course offers a classic fell running experience while avoiding some of the busier mountain routes. Competitors are expected to have previous fell running experience together with the ability to navigate confidently using a map and compass, in accordance with Fell Runners Association rules.
The race is held under Fell Runners Association regulations, with mandatory kit requirements, checkpoint cut off times and traditional navigation forming an important part of the challenge. All proceeds from race entries and event parking are donated to Alzheimer's Research UK, adding a charitable purpose to the event.
Combining classic Lakeland summits, rewarding mountain terrain and traditional fell running values, the Turner Landscape Fell Race is a popular fixture in the Lake District fell running calendar.
