New Scottish trail race set to be ‘Epic’
Prolific event organisers boost their 2021 calendar with new Glasgow event
Tough Runner UK has announced a new addition to their 2021 roster of events, pledging their determination to ‘make an impression on all who attend’. The Glasgow Epic Trail 10K will be held on Sunday, 25 April in the scenic surroundings of the Mossneuk Estate near Neilston.
The new race will be the company’s first Scottish event of 2021. The first edition of their Drumlanrig Castle event – featuring 5k, 10k and Half Marathon distance runs – was cancelled earlier this year. That event will now be held on 4 July 2021.
The route of the new Glasgow Epic Trail 10K – yet to be fully revealed – will take runners through the grounds of Mossneuk Farm and its ‘unrivalled surroundings’, offering them ‘mouth watering views’ of some of the country’s finest landscapes from some of its best trails.
Entry to the new Glasgow Epic Trail 10K is now open with discounted 'early bird' rates.
Runners concerned about taking part in events a this time – if coronavirus remains an issue in the months ahead – should know that Tough Runner UK already holds ‘Good to Go’ certification, indicating that they comply with all the relevant Covid-19 safety guidelines to hold running events safely.
Although Tough Runner UK is a national event organiser with an extensive portfolio of events planned over the next 12 months, feedback following their race at Callendar Park, Falkirk in January was mixed. Participants complaining about a delayed start and medal mix-up and local residents unhappy with parking arrangements.
