The Thurlstone Chase is a BS category fell race organised by Penistone Footpath Runners and held from Thurlstone Football Club in South Yorkshire. Covering approximately 4.2 miles with 500 feet of ascent, the race offers a fast and enjoyable introduction to fell running while remaining a competitive challenge for experienced runners.
The marked and marshalled course follows a single loop over the hills surrounding Thurlstone, combining grassy trails, tracks and open countryside with sustained climbing and fast descents. The varied terrain and scenic Peak District setting provide a rewarding midweek fell running experience.
Held under Fell Runners Association rules, the event welcomes both pre entries and entries on the day, subject to the race limit. With prizes across a wide range of age categories and a long established place in the local fell racing calendar, the Thurlstone Chase remains a popular summer fixture.
