The Three River Challenge is a 15 mile mixed terrain event from South Kyme, following the rivers Slea, Skirth and Witham through the Lincolnshire Fens. The circular route combines scenic riverbanks with stretches of road, creating a varied countryside challenge for runners and walkers.
Starting from South Kyme Coronation Hall, the route covers approximately 14.7 miles across fenland countryside, with sections of rough ground adding to the challenge. Decision points are marshalled for runners and three drinks stations are positioned along the route at approximately 4, 8 and 11 miles.
Runners start at 10am, while walkers and slower runners have an earlier start to give them additional time on the course. The mixture of riverbank trails and road running provides plenty of variety across the distance, with medals awaiting participants at the finish. Hot soup, tea, coffee and cake provide a welcoming end to the challenge back in South Kyme.
