The Ultra Loop at Delamere Forest is a flexible eight hour running challenge set among the woodland trails of Cheshire. Rather than racing a fixed distance, participants complete as many 6.02K loops as they choose within the time limit, with every runner receiving a recorded distance, finishing time and medal regardless of how many laps they complete.
The mixed terrain course combines gravel paths and light trails, beginning with a challenging climb towards Old Pale Viewpoint before descending into the forest and passing Blackmere Lake. Around 117m of elevation on each circuit means the accumulated climbing becomes increasingly demanding for runners aiming to cover longer distances.
The start and finish area also serves as the central aid station, allowing runners to access refreshments and their own supplies throughout the event. Chip timing records completed laps, total distance and elapsed time, while the flexible format allows each participant to set their own target, from a shorter woodland run to an ultra distance within the eight hour window.
