One Distance; One Venue; It's One In The Park
Brand new 10K series launches in beautiful The Regent's Park
The One in The Park is a brand new series of 10K races. There is one venue, one race distance, one course, and a new race promoter: OneRace Events, headed by the hugely experienced race organiser Craig Thornton. The One in The Park takes place in The Regent's Park in London on the third Sunday of the month from April - September 2023.
The Regent's Park is the perfect setting for a fast, traffic-free Sunday morning 10K. The course covers an accurately measured route, wholly situated within the park, and attracts runners of all abilities, with beginners particularly welcome.
Race Director, Craig Thornton, explained the broad appeal of this new venture to runABC South: "We are passionate about delivering exceptional races for the community. At OneRace Events, you can expect an inclusive atmosphere where we encourage everyone from the fastest to the slowest participants. OneRace Events are designed to give the best possible experience to all our participants, whether you are a beginner and it’s your first organised event or you have run hundreds of races."
The beautiful Royal Park is renowned for its iconic 10K course and fast times across the board for runners at all levels. You will be running alongside London Zoo, and lucky runners will spot camels, giraffes, or even some big cats, while other sections of the course take you past the tranquil boating lake, floral gardens, and centuries-old statues and monuments.
With acres of open space for relaxing and recovering with friends, you'll be able to make a great day trip out to celebrate one of your fastest 10K times, accurately recorded by chip-timing on these officially measured courses. There's no finish line feeling quite like The Regent's Park!
Races in the series all start at 09:30 and the dates are Sunday 16 April; Sunday 21 May; Sunday 18 June; Sunday 16 July; Sunday 20 August, and Sunday 17 September 2023. The entry fees are £23/£25 according to affiliation status and there is a £30 fee for a Team Relay (for up to three members).
Early bookers can also benefit from a ladder of discounts ranging from 5% for three races to 20% if you sign up for all six races in the series – why not use them as a fitness progress check over the summer?
