The Grand Union Canal Half Marathon is a scenic point to point race from Cowley near Uxbridge to Cassiobury Park in Watford. Following the canal north towards the finish, the route provides a refreshing alternative to a traditional city road race with plenty of waterside and countryside scenery.
Runners cover 13.1 miles of canal towpaths, country trails and woodland paths on a fully marked and marshalled course. The varied but runnable terrain features around 135m of elevation gain, with four water stations positioned along the route to support runners on their journey towards Watford.
Starting at Cowley Recreation Ground and finishing among the open green spaces of Cassiobury Park, the event creates a genuine journey from start to finish. Runners can park near the finish in Watford and pre book a coach to the start in Cowley, leaving their car ready for them after the race. Race photography, a finisher medal, bag drop and finish line refreshments are also included.
