What Is The Intertidal? The island has the third-largest tidal ranges in the world, with over 12m on spring tides and receding as much as two miles from the southeast coast. The Intertidal is a running challenge like no other, set in the small window of time when the usually submerged surface is exposed. With a distance of approximately 16 miles, you'll run between two corners of the island and collect six iconic coastal landmarks on the way. Expect mixed surfaces, shifting conditions, and a route that rewards calm decision-making as much as fitness. We don't create a cut-off, the sea does.
