The Howling Bull Run is a hilly 6 mile multi terrain race starting and finishing at Walford Village Hall in Herefordshire. The route heads out from the village and climbs Bulls Hill along the Wye Valley Walk before continuing across the surrounding hills and woodland.
Runners tackle around 750ft of elevation on a predominantly off road course, with woodland footpaths, bridleways, muddy and uneven sections and a small amount of tarmac. Much of the climbing comes during the opening miles before the route reaches higher ground and turns onto faster descending trails towards the finish.
A separate canicross start takes place ahead of the main running field, using the same challenging course. The event has a friendly local character, with marshals around the route and refreshments traditionally served back at Walford Village Hall, while proceeds support a selection of charities and community causes.
