The Drop Halifax is a unique navigation challenge that combines endurance, route finding and adventure. Participants choose either a 10 mile or 15 mile challenge before boarding a bus from Halifax to an undisclosed drop off point, where the race to find the way back begins.
Distances are measured as the crow flies, meaning the actual distance covered is likely to be considerably longer. Competitors must rely on their own judgement and navigation skills, with GPS devices, watches, phones, compasses and unauthorised maps sealed away before the start. The result is a true test of resilience, decision making and self sufficiency rather than speed alone.
