The Curfew Run is an annual road race organised by Tweed Striders and held in the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Open to runners aged 13 and over, the event follows the town's famous Elizabethan Walls and centres on the long standing challenge of completing the course before the Curfew Bell finishes tolling.
The approximately 1.28 Mile route follows the historic circuit of Berwick's Elizabethan Walls, combining tarmac paths and roads with panoramic views across the town, River Tweed and coastline. Fast underfoot and rich in history, the course offers a unique running experience in one of Britain's best preserved fortified towns.
The Curfew Run follows the earlier Curfew Fun Run and features the traditional ringing of the Curfew Bells throughout the race. Combining local heritage, friendly competition and a distinctive time challenge, the Curfew Run remains one of the North East's most unusual and enduring summer running events.
