London Marathon 2025 Ballot Results

An anxious wait ends as TCS London Marathon ballot results are released...

The first record of the 45th TCS London Marathon on Sunday 27 April 2025 has already been smashed as the world record-breaking 840,318 people who entered the ballot discover their result today (Wednesday 26 June 2024).

For the first time in history, more than three-quarters of a million people applied to take part in a marathon. The previous world record of 578,374 applications was set in 2023 by applicants for the 2024 TCS London Marathon.

Those who have been successful can now start planning to take on the iconic TCS London Marathon course from Greenwich to Westminster. TCS London Marathon’s official training app partner Coopah can support participants on their journey to the start line. For more information, click here.

The TCS London Marathon ballot draw is completely random just like the National Lottery. Successful applicants will be encouraged to set up their bespoke fundraising pages through Enthuse, the Official Fundraising Partner of London Marathon Events.

Hugh Brasher, Event Director of the TCS London Marathon, said: “This year’s TCS London Marathon was a truly inspiring day, and we are incredibly proud that 840,318 people applied to join us next year as we celebrate the 45th London Marathon. There's a record number of people anxiously awaiting results and we wish everyone the very best of luck."

For those who were unsuccessful in the ballot, Brasher added: "If you did not get the result you wanted, there are still plenty of ways you can be part of the historic 45th edition of the London Marathon by applying for a place to take part for one of the incredible charities with places in the event or by taking part in the TCS London Marathon #MyWay, which allows you to complete the marathon distance anywhere in the world on 27 April."

Many charities have entries for the 2025 TCS London Marathon, including the 2025 TCS London Marathon Charity of the Year Pancreatic Cancer UK. Charities allocate their places to people who commit to raising funds for their cause. To find out more, click here.
