The Tavy Relays are organised by Tavistock Athletic Club and take place in Tavistock Meadows as part of Tavistock Carnival Week. The event brings together athletic clubs, local businesses, sports clubs and community teams to compete in a friendly four person relay.
Each team member completes a 1.1M leg on a fast course through the riverside setting of Tavistock Meadows. Junior, ladies and men’s relay races are staged, with a Fun Run also taking place over the same course for younger runners and those preferring a shorter event.
The event benefits from experienced club organisation and forms one of the highlights of the local carnival programme. The inclusive format, community atmosphere and charitable support through the Tavistock Lions make it a distinctive fixture in the South West running calendar.
