Tap O'Noth Hill Race starts and finishes at the playing fields in the centre of Rhynie, following a demanding 7.5K route with approximately 390 metres of ascent. The course leaves the village across fields before climbing through heather to the summit trig point of Tap O'Noth, returning by the same route with a short final section back to the finish.
Organised by Insch Trail Running Club as part of the Rhynie Gala, the race is held under Scottish Hill Runners rules and requires competitors to carry mandatory safety kit. A free junior race over approximately 5K takes place alongside the main event, with both races benefiting from a fully marshalled course.
With a steep climb, rewarding summit views and a welcoming local atmosphere, Tap O'Noth Hill Race is a classic Scottish hill race that combines a challenging ascent with the celebrations of the annual Rhynie Gala.
