Take it easy at Virtual Summer Bimble for the NHS
The fine weather is a good reason to go for a run or walk at a leisurely pace whilst following government guidelines in regard to social distancing. If you need an incentive to do your daily exercise, enter the Virtual Summer Bimble in the Park and run, jog or walk 5 miles for our NHS.
The Summer Bimble in the Park is one of three Bimbles organised by James Wright – the other two are the Autumn and Winter Bimbles - created to raise funds and awareness for local and national charities. They are designed to be fun, open to all ages and fancy dress is encouraged and everyone is supported throughout with nobody left behind.
The Summer event was scheduled for Sunday 14 June at Alexandra Park in Oldham and runners eagerly waited for this day until world events took a turn for the worst with the coronavirus outbreak.
This event along with many others was cancelled. However, James has launched a Virtual Summer Bimble in the Park where participants complete 5 miles (adults) or 1 mile (children) before 14 June. The emphasis is on the word ‘bimble’ which means at your own pace and it can be completed over several days. Walking and skipping are equally acceptable as is fancy dress.
Have a bimble in your garden or close to home, share a video or photos on social media #BimbleForTheNHS and be rewarded with a rainbow-themed medal. Stay safe at all times and enjoy the experience.
