The Sussex Downs Trail Run takes place in the South Downs National Park, starting from Plumpton Racecourse in Mid-Sussex and offering a mix of scenic views, varied terrain, and rewarding climbs.
Runners can choose from 21K, 15K, or 10K routes, all beginning with a gentle 3.5K tree-lined section before climbing up to the South Downs Way. From here, the course opens up to wide views across the Sussex countryside, including Seven Sisters Country Park and distant sea views on clear days.
The route continues along established trails towards Brighton before looping back, followed by a descent into a flat final section leading to the finish.
The event is chip timed and fully supported with marshals, first aid, and on-course refreshments. All finishers receive a medal, along with a drink, goodies, and a personalised certificate, making this a rewarding and accessible trail run for all abilities.
