The Sunderland City Runs 5K takes place in Sunderland city centre as part of the Sunderland City Runs weekend. Organised by Events of the North, the race follows a fast closed road route through the city with sections beside the River Wear and views of some of Sunderland’s best known landmarks.
The course is designed to be accessible for all abilities with flat roads and a lively city atmosphere throughout. Runners can expect strong crowd support, wide urban streets and a fast route suited to first time 5K runners as well as those chasing a quick time.
