The Street 5K is a popular monthly road race organised by Wells City Harriers in the Somerset town of Street. The evening event has a long history and runs alongside separate 1K and 2K races for younger runners, creating a lively programme of racing for different ages.
Runners complete five laps of a compact 1K road circuit taking in Farm Road, Southleaze Orchard, Orchard Road and the High Street. The fast course makes pacing straightforward, with a timing clock at the start of each lap helping runners monitor their progress and settle into a consistent rhythm. With plenty of marshal support around the circuit, it is well suited to runners looking to test their speed or target a quicker 5K time.
The series takes place on the second Wednesday of each month from autumn through to early spring. Runners can enter individual races or take on the full series, with awards for those who complete the required number of fixtures and prizes presented across a range of age categories.
