Strathearn Trail Festival

Festival Fun On The Trails

This Perthshire trail festival returns in January and promises some wintery running magic...

If you love a spot of winter trail running then the Strathearn Trail Festival is a January no-brainer! Returning for a third outing, the festival will be based at Glenturret Distillery in 2024 - a new location for the popular event.

The festival will take place over the weekend of 13/14 January and offers runners a variety of distances to choose from. Choose from four races; a 5K, the light 10K (daytime), the dark 10K (at night), half marathon OR do all four to get the Strathearn Trail Ultra.

The 10K Light trail run takes participants over The Knock with some lovely scenery and a somewhat challenging hill. The night-time version offers all the challenges of its daytime counterpart but with the addition of glow sticks and lights!

The Half Marathon takes runners over The Knock twice, but with the same gorgeous winter scenery to admire, you might not even notice! Those wanting to do all four runs will earn the Strathearn Trail Ultra title, are you brave enough?

All routes start and finish at the Glenturret Distillery in Crieff where there is free parking and toilets at the start/finish. Spectators can cheer along the route and at the Mini 'Event Village' with food trucks on offer.

Organisers, Wee Run Events, say: "If you love trails and the cold doesn't bother you - then you will want to do the Strathearn Trail Festival this coming January and start your running year in top form!"
