Stour Valley Path Ultra Run

The Stour Valley Path 100K and 50K Ultra Runs are point to point trail events organised by the SVP100 team. The 100K starts in Newmarket, Suffolk, while the 50K begins in Sudbury, with both races finishing at Cattawade near Manningtree on the Essex border. Together they follow sections of the historic Stour Valley Path through one of England's most picturesque landscapes.

The routes are almost entirely off road, following well marked footpaths, woodland trails, riverside paths and countryside tracks through the Stour Valley. Along the way, runners pass scenery closely associated with artists John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough, combining peaceful rural landscapes with an undulating but highly runnable trail. The 100K covers almost the entire Stour Valley Path, while the 50K offers a shorter introduction to the same distinctive route.

Both events are fully supported with well stocked checkpoints, food and drink stations, medical cover and transport for runners unable to continue. Finishers receive a commemorative medal and technical T shirt, while successful completions qualify for the appropriate UTMB Index category.

Combining outstanding countryside, excellent organisation and challenging point to point routes, the Stour Valley Path 100K and 50K Ultra Runs are among the best known ultra trail races in East Anglia.
