The Stanwick Lakes Winter Santa Run offers 5K, 10K and Half Marathon distances through the Stanwick Lakes nature reserve in Northamptonshire. Organised by Rockingham Forest Trust, the event welcomes runners of all abilities to enjoy a festive challenge surrounded by lakes, wetlands and countryside.
All three courses follow relatively flat gravel paths through the reserve. The 5K completes one lap, while the 10K follows two laps. Half Marathon runners also follow the former Nene Valley Railway line towards Thrapston before returning to the lakeside paths. Road crossings are marshalled, and participants receive chip timing.
Registration takes place at the visitor centre, with staggered starts to manage runners on the shared paths. Every entry supports the conservation charity responsible for maintaining Stanwick Lakes, its wildlife habitats and educational activities. The event combines scenic trail running with a festive atmosphere while supporting the nature reserve.
