Stafford's September Celebration

Fantastic crowd support is guaranteed at this autumn West Midlands 10K...

The West Midlands market town of Stafford will celebrate all things running this autumn with the return of its 10K race on 22 September. The popular event attracts runners from all over the region ranging from club runners to first timers and offers a fun and competitive run through the historic streets of the town.

Organisers, Freedom Leisure, say: "Running through the historic streets of Stafford, it is one of the most spectacular races on the running calendar so, come and support this amazing event and let’s get the streets of Stafford filled with passionate and committed runners this September!"

The race start is on Victoria Road, just outside the town’s award-winning Victoria Park, organisers suggest that if you arrive early, Albert’s Café is open from 8am for snacks and a brew. The 10K distance is ideal for runners and joggers of all abilities and the atmosphere is always a good one, with enthusiastic crowds encouraged to line the streets of Stafford to cheer on competitors as they make their way to the finish line which is just outside the park.

A 2023 entrant had this to say post-race: "It's flat and fast, and the finish goes through the picturesque park before taking you through the town. Well organised - you can opt to pay for the t-shirt (which is very nice) but since you've already got loads of them, it is nice to know you don't have to. Good course for a PB as there is only one very short hill."

While fellow racer, Victoria Thornber commented: "My first ever 10K and I loved every minute of it. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on whether it be the general public, marshalls, fellow runners etc. It really did spur me on. I’ll be back next year. Just debating whether it’s the Stafford half marathon first! I may have the bug!"
